Islandmagee garden to open to the public

EVERY plant in the garden is gearing up to make the most of the summer sunshine and there is no better way to appreciate the colourful blooms and luscious green foliage than to visit the Ulster Gardens Scheme's fabulous array of open gardens.

On Saturday, July 4 and Sunday 5, David and Jane Robinson, of 240 Middle Road, Islandmagee, will be opening their garden from 2pm to 5pm, on behalf of the National Trust.

This large two-acre farmhouse garden specialises in roses and the garden includes many areas such as a cottage garden, herb garden and a cutting garden. There is also a raised vegetable garden, with fruit trees and shrubs in the fields – all grown organically.

To find the garden, turn left at the Rhinka, follow the road for two miles and go round an S bend. The garden has two white pillars with black pointed tops and the number 240 on the gate

Admission is 3.
