Have your say on needs of Craigyhill and Antiville
THE Department for Social Development and Community Foundation Northern Ireland is calling on people in Craigyhill and Antiville to express their views on programmes to address community capacity and good relations.
Combined investment of 270,000 from the Department’s Areas at Risk programme and the Community Foundation Northern Ireland’s Communities in Transition Programme has been granted for the areas.
Both programmes focus on building social cohesion and community capacity and aim to develop confidence within communities to help address issues such as inter and intra community conflict.
The programmes are very much grounded in the community and use a ‘bottom up’ approach to deal with sensitive and complex issues that are having a serious and detrimental impact on the lives of people living in the community.
Both DSD and CFNI, along with the NIHE, PSNI and Council have been working closely with local community groups and organizations over the last 12 months with one of the first tasks undertaken being the completion of a community audit.
A draft plan has been put together and comments are now being sought from residents in Craigyhill and Antiville so they can give their feedback on the types of programmes that they think might or might not work in their area.
An information evening to discuss the action plan is being held on Tuesday, June 30 from 8 pm to 9.30 pm at Linn Road Community Centre.
DSD and CFNI particularly want local people to attend the information evening and have their say on the issues and needs of their area.
