Filling station proposal is put on hold

editorial image

PLANNERS have agreed to defer a decision on a proposed filling station and shop at Millbrook.

The Planning Service has indicted it intends to refuse an application by Mr B Lyttle for the facility at 31 Belfast Road, stating that the applicant has failed to demonstrate that the scheme would not have “an adverse impact on the surrounding public road network”.

It was also felt that the applicant has provided insufficient information to determine “the existence, nature, extent and concentration of any contaminant sources, and to identify any remediation works necessary”.

Larne Borough Council, which has a consultative role when it comes to planning issues, asked that the application be deferred.
