Bomb disposal team at Seacourt
Police now believe that an explosion in Seacourt last night may be linked to dissident terrorist activity.
Detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch are presently investigating the cause of the explosion and are attending another security alert in the same area, following a report of a suspicious object being found in the Britannia Crescent area of the estate at lunchtime today.
Army Technical Officers have been tasked and Britannia Crescent has been closed at its junction with the Seahill Road.
The explosion last night was reported to police shortly before 11pm and caused damage to a fence in the area.
