Annual Snowdrop Walk - a time to remember

The Pregnancy Loss and Paediatric Bereavement Team of the Northern Trust is inviting parents and relatives in Larne who have been affected by the death of a child to a special remembrance event.

The annual Snowdrop Walk, a time for remembering bereaved children and families, will take place on Sunday, February 19 in the grounds of Shane’s Castle, Antrim.

The death of a loved one is extremely difficult and even more so when the loved one is a baby or a child. The Snowdrop Walk is intended as a remembrance opportunity for families and relatives who have suffered a pregnancy loss or the death of a child.

Parents and relatives will have the opportunity to plant a snowdrop bulb in memory of their loved one in an area designated by Lord O’Neill within the castle grounds.

Gates open at 1pm with the welcome, dedication and poem recital at 2pm. Bulb planting will take place between 2.15-3.15pm.

Light refreshments will be served in the castle grounds restaurant and children will be able to take part in activities with Antrim Area Hospital’s play therapist.

There is no charge for the event and affected families within or treated by the Trust are very welcome.
