VIDEO: Plaque commemorates gun-running operation

Larne Mayor Councillor Maureen Morrow has unveiled a plaque marking the centenary of the Clyde Valley gun-running operation.

The commemoration event took place at Drumalis in Larne, the stately home where it is believed Lord Carson and others planned the meticulous and audacious Operation Lion to bring in arms from Germany for the Ulster Volunteer Force, which had formed in 1913 to oppose the Home Rule for Ireland movement.
