Larne Council is preparing for a 12-day carnevale to celebrate the Giro d’Italia - one of the world’s biggest sporting events - which passes through the borough on Saturday, May 10.

Mayor Maureen Morrow has appealed for ideas from local people to help promote the event and revealed some of the council’s own initiatives, including the creation of a 12-days of pink logo, the lighting up some of the borough’s landmarks (such as the Black Arch, Chaine Memorial Tower and the bridge at Carnlough) and transforming Broadway in Larne into a piazza.
