Business owners, employees and customers are being urged to play their part in the 2014 Larne Business Awards.

The awards, organised by the Larne Times in partnership with Larne Borough Council, present a great opportunity to support local businesses and showcase the borough’s talent.

With 15 categories to choose from, the awards cover every aspect of business and commercial life. Categories include Best Retailer, Best Export Business, Excellence in Innovation Award, Excellence in Tourism, Best Rural Business, Best Community Engagement, Best Environmental, Best Digital Initiative and Use of Social Media, Excellence in Marketing, Excellence in People Development, Business Person of the Year, Young Business Person of the Year.

There is also a Lifetime Achievement Award which welcomes nominations for those who have made an outstanding contribution to business life in the Larne area. These categories will be judged by an independent panel.

The winners of two special categories - Favourite Restaurant/ Cafe and Best Customer Service- will be selected by the vote of Larne Times readers. A business can enter up to two categories, with each entry on a separate entry form.

The entry form should summarise why the business should win, paying particular attention to the judging criteria. The closing date for receipt of completed entry forms is Monday, August 7.
