Larne hairdresser Lesley- Ann McWhirter has raised the sum of £5,180 for Allyson Bell’s cancer treatment fund.
It was Lesley Ann herself who was in the chair recently for a sponsored head shave.
Lesley Ann who works at Origin hair salon, at Station Road, bravely decided to take the plunge on ChristmasEve in aid of her friend.
And she has decided to complete her new look by dying her remaining locks blonde.

She indicated that she was cheered on by 50 friends and well-wishers who gathered in the salon.
“Allyson knew I was going to have my head shaved at three o’clock and rang to wish me well.
“The sum I raised is the equivalent of $8,500 and will pay for a couple of months’ treatment.”

The 54-year-old beautician is battling three aggressive forms of cancer .
Allyson and her husband David have already pledged their life-savings to pay for the treatment but need to raise the remainder of the cost.
They have reached half their target sum with funds totalling $41,740 boosted recently by DJ Fergie at a marathon charity night in Toronto.
