Asda Larne is celebrating after helping to raise almost £50,000 for the Northern Ireland Hospice.
Staff in Asda stores across Northern Ireland took part in fundraising, which centred around a raffle for a brand new Ford Fiesta, from Lindsay Ford Cars.
Kim Gault, community life colleague, Asda Larne, presented a cheque for £49,590 to Ellen Hillen, corporate fundraising manager for NI Hospice, on behalf of the supermarket, recently.
Charlotte Elliot, regional people manager for Asda NI, said: “I’m so proud of Kim and all the community colleagues across Northern Ireland for their hard work on this amazing campaign.
“And of course, I’d like to thank all the Asda shoppers who gave so generously in aid of this brilliant cause.
“The Northern Ireland Hospice do such valuable work and this donation will make a huge difference to the lives of local people living with cancer.”
Ellen Hillen added: “We are so grateful to ASDA for this generous donation and wish to thank all Asda colleagues across Northern Ireland for their continued commitment to the Hospice and ASDA customers for giving so generously to help us provide care for local people with life-limiting and terminal illness.”
The fundraiser was part of Asda’s Community Life programme – the retailer’s ongoing commitment to the communities around its 17 stores in Northern Ireland.
Last year, Asda colleagues in Northern Ireland helped raise almost £800,000 for good causes, and this year, hope to raise even more.
