Trust close Glenoe Waterfall site to carry out '˜essential improvements'

Glenoe Waterfall site will be temporarily closed for up to eight weeks while the National Trust complete essential conservation and improvement work.

Site repairs will include the reinstating and reinforcement of the pathway leading from the carpark to the waterfall and the reinforcement of the bridge viewing point.

The car park will remain open during the essential maintenance work.

Lead ranger for the National Trust Craig Somerville said: “It’s an important part of our work to look after special places like Glenoe so it is a great opportunity in winter months to improve this popular location.

“Contractors are currently on site and the area has been closed to ensure the safety of visitors. Weather permitting we anticipate that the work will be completed in around eight weeks.

The pathway to the waterfall will then be reopened and visitors will once again be able enjoy this magnificent nature walk once again. We thank visitors and local residents for their patience and support during this time.”
