Police on burglary patrol in Larne
Police are on the beat in Larne today carrying out anti-burglary patrols in the town.
The officers, from Larne C Section, are warning homeowners to “protect their homes and not to be caught out by opportunistic thieves.”
A post on the PSNI Larne Facebook page stated: “Thirty per cent of burglaries happen when opportunistic thieves walk in through an unlocked front door and 26 per cent through unlocked or open windows.
“DON’T LET THE THIEVES CATCH YOU OUT!”
The warning is accompanied by a poster showing an opportunistic thief stealing from a house while the owners enjoy a barbecue in their back garden.
