PIPS seeks well heeled walkers!
The local suicide prevention charity is set to host its ‘walk a mile in my shoes’ event during this year’s Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and is anxious to boost participation from local men willing to strut their stuff for an excellent cause.
But if you thought that taking part would be a mere stroll in the park, think again!

And what better way to highlight that message than have lady walkers trudge the distance in firemen’s wellies while the male volunteers slip on a nice, comfortable pair of lady’s high heels!
A spokesperson for PIPS Larne said: ““We have a good number of ladies taking part in the walk so far but we could do with a few more males!
“We are calling on all those who are brave enough to walk in heels to help raise money for the charity and at the same time raise awareness on mental health and suicide.

The sponsored walk starts at 2.00pm from the Town Hall, Upper Main Street, then along High Street, Victoria Road, down Agnew Street and back up Main Street to finish at the Town Hall.
As usual members of the Fire Service will be joining in and bringing a fire engine with them!
PIPS Larne is currentlyoperating out of its temporary headquarters at Unit Five Stylux Industrial Estate on the Old Glenarm Road, which will function as a treatment centre until the permanent headquarters opens in the old Woodside’s building on Main Street in Spring 2017.
