Larne driver's van seized and £200 fine for driving without insurance

A driver in Larne has had his van seized and been handed a £200 fine and six penalty points for driving without insurance, police have revealed.

Details of the incident, which occurred last night (September 26) on the Belfast Road, were posted on the PSNI Larne Facebook page alongside a photo of the vehicle.

Sergeant Lowry posted: “This white van was stopped on the Belfast Road leaving Larne tonight.

“The driver was found the be using the vehicle without having any insurance in place.

“The driver was issued with a fixed penalty notice giving them six penalty points and a £200 fine.

“The vehicle was seized and can only be retrieved when the driver produces a valid insurance certificate.

“#noinsurancenovan.”
