Rhonda Roberts passed away earlier this year, aged 41, from ocular melanoma.

Alan Carey, lifelong friend to Rhonda’s husband Joe, felt it was important to honour her memory by raising funds for OcuMel UK, a small national charity that was there for Rhonda when she needed them.

Alan and the rest of the dedicated group completed a 17-mile walk between Southport and Waterloo on the west coast of Enlgand, and set themselves a fundraising target of £2000. The total currently stands at £1110.

Anyone can donate online via their VirginMoneyGiving page entitled ‘walk4rhonda’s fundraising page’.

Alan said: “Rhonda was a loving, courageous and absolutely inspirational person, her love for her family andselflessness during the most difficult of times was something to behold, and humbling to witness.”
