Forensic evidence '˜still being compiled' in stolen fire engine case

Forensic evidence against two men accused of taking a fire engine on a destructive rampage through Larne in March is still being compiled, a court has been told.

At Ballymena Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, it was said that the case was awaiting analysis of glass and fibres.

Ross Clarke and Robert Duffin face a number of charges in relation to the incident, which took place in the early hours of the morning on Saturday, March 5.

Clarke is accused of 14 offences, including burglary, dangerous driving, driving without an appropriate licence or insurance and aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to vehicles and houses.

Duffin is facing five counts, including burglary and aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to vehicles and houses.

A further update on the case is scheduled for September 22.
