Catharine Maybin will undertake her first-ever abseil at the Belfast landmark on September 10.

The Rainbow Day Nursery worker told the Times that it is not the first time she has went out on a limb for charity.

“I like to push my limits,” she revealed.

“I have previously done a zipline over the Lagan and a sky dive for TinyLife.

“I like to choose things which will let me enjoy new experiences while raising money for good causes.

“PIPS is such a good cause, I know a few people who have been affected by suicide and I am hoping to raise a couple of hundred pounds for them.”

Catharine admitted that she is “a wee bit” nervous at her upcoming challenge.

“I have no experience of abseiling, my first time in a harness will be at the top of the Europa hotel,” she laughed.

My mum thinks I’m mad and the rest of my family don’t say very much as they know what I’m like!

“I hope to keep doing a new challenge each year.”
