Buses without headlights in foggy Eden area '˜crazy,' say Larne police

Police have slammed drivers, including those of two Translink buses, who chose to be 'invisible' this morning by failing to switch on their lights in heavy fog.

With mist and fog plaguing the Province during today’s rush hour, the PSNI Larne took to their Facebook page to congratulate drivers who had been using their lights and fog lights.

However, the page also drew attention to the actions of two bus drivers in the Eden area who did not take the precaution, describing their actions as “crazy.”

The post stated: “It’s very foggy and misty around Larne and Carrickfergus this morning.

“On my way to work earlier, it was good to see so many drivers using their lights and where appropriate, fog lights.

“Unfortunately there are still drivers who prefer to be Invisible.

“Including two Translink buses travelling in the Eden area!

“Crazy.

“The fog hasn’t lifted, so keep those lights on.

“#expecttheunexpected.

“#Icantseeyou.

“#keeping people safe.”

No-one from Translink was available for comment at the time of going to press,
