Breast Cancer Care backs ASDA Larne's Strawberry Tea Campaign

Larne Breast Cancer survivor Karen Case, who benefitted from Breast Cancer Care’s support during her treatment four years ago, is backing the initiative which runs from June 4-18.

Asda Larne will host a #StrawberryTea stall with activities for customers to get involved with, including cupcake decorating and a teapot lucky dip. There will also be information on how the public can join in and host a #StrawberryTea, as well as background about the charity and the much-needed services it provides.

All money raised will help Breast Cancer Care provide support for women, men, family and friends affected by breast cancer.

Recalling her own battle with breast cancer, Karen Case commented: “When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer it came as a complete bolt out of the blue, affecting me both physically and mentally.

“Breast Cancer Care was on hand to offer support and help me deal with the array of emotions and challenges I suddenly had to face.

“I can’t speak highly enough of the services provided by the charity and I would urge all Asda shoppers to visit their local store, find out more about #StrawberryTea, and lend their support to this vital fundraising campaign.”

Community Champion at Asda Larne Catherine McCallion added: “We are delighted to join with Breast Cancer Care for its Strawberry Tea fundraiser!

“We would like to encourage our customers to come in store to find out more, and take part in our Strawberry Tea themed activities.

“We will have strawberry cupcake decorating – perfect for the little ones, a tea pot lucky dip with lots of prizes on offer, as well as all the information people need to join in the fun and host a Strawberry Tea of their own.

“The money raised through Strawberry Teas makes a real difference to people affected by breast cancer.

“Our colleagues and customers in Larne have always been incredibly supportive of our fundraising activities and I know this time will be no different. “What better way to bring people together than with a cup of tea and a slice of cake.”
