Owner of BeFit Andrea Kernohan and the club’s clients are fundraising in aid of Larne Adult Centre, Roddensvale School, PIPS, PAL and Action for Children Larne.

The fundraising will also benefit Arthritis Care Northern Ireland Joints, NI Children’s Hospice, SANDs, Tiny Life, Autism NI, Cancer Focus and the Children’s Heartbeat Trust.

“We picked charities which meant a lot to our members,” Andrea revealed.

“All are based in Northern Ireland. Our most recent fund-raiser was a race up the river Lagan in a ‘bubble’, or zorb balls, for Cancer Focus. We also held a zumba party.”

BeFit members are no strangers to fundraising.

“Previously 32 people climbed Ben Nevis and raised £30,000 and we also paddled a Canadian River in Canoes and Climbed the four Celtic Peaks, raising £18,000,” Andrea explained.

“That was for Cancer Focus, my mother in law died from cancer and a lot of people at BeFit have been affected by it. I’m hoping our current efforts will benefit a range of charities.

A disco will be held at Larne Masonic Club from 8pm on August 13. Tickets are £5 and are available at the door, at a BeFit class or by calling Andrea on 07890584341. To donate online, visit Jennifer Roper’s Justgiving page.
