The Year 8 pupils completed a sponsored read, which saw them immerse themselves in a variety of literature.

They also held a fancy dress fun run at Carnfunnock Country Park, when pupils got into the spirit of the event by dressing as a host of colourful characters.

Larne Grammar School’s Year 8 Head Mr McGeagh commented: “A big thanks to all who participated or helped to organised the events with another successful fundraising year.”

Two representatives from Larne RNLI visited the school to collect the cheque, and a spokesperson thanked Larne Grammar School for their fundraising efforts on behalf of the organisation.

He stated: “The school fundraises for us annually and it’s brilliant, their efforts really help our work in saving lives at sea.

“Every year we look forward to seeing their efforts and we really appreciate it.”
