Larne’s jobless total has decreased by almost one fifth in the past 12 months.
According to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, there are 152 fewer claimants in the borough since August 2013. This represents a decrease of more than 17 per cent.
The latest statistics indicate a total of 736 claimants locally; 492 male and 242 female. The overall number of claimants has increased by 12 since last month.
Meanwhile, there are 1984 claimants across East Antrim. This figure has dropped by 511, 20.5 per cent over the past year. In Carrick there were 883 claimants last month, while there were 1798 in Newtownabbey.
