Larne Army Cadet Force member Hannah Robinson won’t be lacking for something to do in the summer holidays.

The 14-year-old lance-corporal will be enjoying a six-week training camp in New Brunswick, Canada.

Hannah, a pupil at Larne Grammar School, is one of 12 UK cadets selected for the adventure training course, which is designed to develop qualities of leadership, self-confidence, initiative, ability to relate to others, and decision-making.

Hannah and her parents, Thomas and Karen, were guests of mayor Cllr Maureen Morrow last Wednesday on the eve of Hannah’s departure. Cllr Mark McKinty, Larne council’s representative on the Cadet and Reserve Forces Association, was also in attendance.

Hannah said she was looking forward to meeting Royal Canadian Army Cadets of English, French and First Nation descent.
