Geraldine Connon, who for the past three decades has been one of the province’s leading fashion designers, helped boost Northern Ireland’s creative industry while raising funds for a local charity.

Geraldine was approached by MLA Jo-Anne Dobson, who offered her the chance to host the fashion show in the Great Hall at Parliament Buildings in December.

The purpose of the show - entitled For the Love of Fashion - was to highlight the talent of the country’s creative fashion industries while raising money for Phoenix Gas’s The Energy for Children Charitable Trust.

The event was a resounding success and raised a whopping £5,000 for the cause.

A delighted Geraldine told the Times: “There were about 55 people involved in this show, each playing an integral part. I want to thank them and all of our unwavering supporters. I also want to give a special mention to backstage co-ordinator Maureen Martin.”
