Teams which won local competitions in East Antrim in 1972 and 1976 were on the pitch for the event, held at the Knowe, which was kindly granted by Newington Rangers FC.

A challenge match was held between the two original teams, with, appropriately enough, the honours ending up even.

Among those who participated was Bill Hunter, who travelled from his home in Wales for the occasion, while Colin Blair came from England. The 1972 team was captained by Tosh Craig and the 1976 team by Marcus Morrow.

Four Wilson brothers took to the pitch, John for the 1972 team and Kenny, David and Andrew for the 1976 selection. There were also many supporters on the evening, with Ruth Hood, and Patricia McDowell completing the 1972 P7 class.

Teacher, past pupils, family, and friends, were also present in some numbers.
