Golden celebrationfor Seaview PrimarySchool in Glenarm

Seaview Primary School in Glenarm will be celebrating its 50th anniversary on the present site later this month.

A book celebrating the past 50 years of the school has been written by Iain and Jimmy Bradley, with old photographs, fond memories and plenty of stories about the history of the school included.

The golden anniversary occasion will be marked with a family fun event at the school on the afternoon of Saturday, June 17, followed by a wine and cheese evening later to launch the book.

The school has a long heritage in the Glenarm community, having first been opened in an old barn in the yard of the Seaview Hotel in 1875, with a new building seeing it re-located to a site near the Church of The Immaculate Conception.
