Employment and Learning minister Stephen Farry is to visit Roddensvale School in Larne.
A date is being arranged for the visit, which was agreed at a meeting with East Antrim MLA Oliver McMullan last week.
“Following on from the adjournment debate I requested on the subject of the lack of employment and further education opportunities for people with special needs in East Antrim and the Glens, the minister is to produce a report soon, which I look forward to reading,” said Mr McMullan.
The Sinn Fein representative added: “The minister has agreed to visit the area to see for himself the current provision and the need for new programmes in Larne, Glenarm and Carnlough.
“The Glenlough Centre would be ideal for tutoring, but would need a computer suite, for example. Local provision would reduce the need for tiring, long journeys.”
