Age NI warmly welcomed around 100 people, including friends, family and volunteers to a celebration of the Age NI befriending project.

The event took place in McConnell’s of Doagh and was supported by AES Kilroot.

Una Mulgrew, project co-ordinator, said: “This was a wonderful event that brought everyone together from the Newtownabbey, Carrick and Larne area in celebration of a worthwhile service. We were entertained by music and dancing courtesy of Eddie Campbell’s Jukebox Session and by a few singers from the crowd, both young and old, who displayed a fine array of talent. Many thanks to the kindness shown by AES Kilroot who funded the event and to McConnells for the warm reception.”

Age NI’s befriending service operates in Newtownabbey, Carrick and Larne supporting older people at risk of loneliness and social isolation.
