Police found ‘speed’ in man’s bedroom

A Larne man (64) has been given a one month jail term, suspended for six months, for possessing the illegal drug ‘Speed’.

Royston Hale, of Mill Brae, had the offence detected on October 25.

He was in breach of a suspended sentence at the time.

A prosecutor told Ballymena Magistrates Court police had conducted a search of the defendant’s home and found a small amount of white powder in two bags in a bedroom.

The defendant told police he had used the drugs about a year previously.
