A driver who was detected speeding on the A8 in Larne has received points and a fine.

The Times understands that police detected the speeding driver yesterday (Wednesday).

Commenting on the PSNI Larne Facebook page, Sgt Lowry said: “D Section from your Local Policing Team has been conducting speed checks today in Larne and Carrickfergus. It’s good to see most are driving below the speed limits.

“However, as you can see from the photo, some are not. A male driver was detected at 95mph on the A8 Belfast Road in Larne. No excuse can justify that speed. The driver was issued with a ticket, giving them three points, as well as a £60 fine.”
