She appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court where a defence lawyer said she originally left for England because she was “going to end up in prison or dead” due to addiction issues at the time.

Sarah Jane Rea (30), whose address was given as Mill Brae, pleaded guilty to charges of sending text messages in January, 2010, in contravention of a Non-Molestation Order.

She also admitted charges of driving a Mercedes while disqualified and without insurance at Pound Street, Larne, on May 15, 2010.

The defence lawyer told the court the matters were only being dealt with now as his client had gone to England in 2010 and an arrest warrant was executed by arrangement.

The defendant was banned from driving for two years and fined £575.
