A sponsored walk from Drains Bay car park to Larne Leisure Centre and back has raised at least £2,000 for a local cancer support charity.

A group of 60 people stepped out in aid of Familycare-in-cancer, a local charity helping support families through the trauma of cancer.

The event was sponsored by BeckettHanlon Worldwide Property Finance, a global property franchise and personal friends of Familycare-in-cancer.

A spokesperson for the group said: “We want to thank everyone for their support and efforts for the day, to date we raised £2,000 but if you would still like to sponsor the event please contact us at Familycare-in-cancer, 11 Paradise Avenue, Ballymena 02825657388 or email us at familycareincancer@gmail.com.
