Island Camera Club members were treated to a special treat when vice-chairman Jim Smith arranged for a trip to Patterson’s Spade Mill, Templepatrick the last working water-driven spade mill in daily use in the British Isles.
Members had the rare opportunity to photograph work in progress at the mill, courtesy of Tom Mahon from the National Trust.
The outing was very well attended, with a high percentage of the 26 members coming along.
The club’s resident professional, Stuart McChesney from SMC Phorographer, was on hand, with his in valuable expertise and advice on how to aim for that perfect shot.
After the shoot, members had a leisurely stroll through the mill, a chat and some refreshments.
The club, while in its infancy, is enjoying record membership and has a packed and varied calendar for the next year.
New members are always welcome and further details can be found on the club website www.islandcameraclub.com
