This week saw the formal launch of the new consumer website, Your Money, by the Personal Finance Society.
The Personal Finance Society is the part of the Chartered Insurance Institute that is the professional body for both independent and restricted financial advisers. An important part of their Royal charter is to give the general public greater confidence when making important financial decisions.
The site provides information about key personal finance topics and links to money planning tools from organisations such as Money Advice Service, Which? and Moneyfacts. In line with their consumer protection remit as a professional body, the website has been designed to help consumers make better-informed decisions about money.
There is a vast resource of useful information to plough through. This includes separate sections on managing debt, planning for retirement, protecting your family, saving and investing.
There is also advice on how to spot and avoid investment scams, as well as a number of financial calculators and interactive tools.
For those people who require some advice to help them with their financial decisions, the website also links to an extensive directory of financial advisers that can be searched for under postcode and qualifications, as well as specialisms.
