interest in this year’s prestigious Larne Business Awards is gathering full speed in the lead up to the grand awards ceremony on Thursday, October 11 in Larne Town Hall.

Organised by the Larne Times in association with Larne Borough Council, the 2012 awards presents the ideal opportunity to recognise the talent, entrepresenurship and excellence that exists across the full range of business and commerce in the borough.

This week the Larne Times is delighted to announce that Larne Skills Development has come on board as an associate sponsor fo the awards.

“Larne Skills Development are pleased to be an associate sponsor of the Larne Business Awards which rewards local businesses for excellence across a variety of categories,” said a spokesperson.

As a local employer and trainer of young persons seeking employment over the last 20 years, Larne Skills Development have helped more than 2,000 school leavers and young persons to gain qualifications and experience to assist them in securing employment.

“By increasing the skill set and employability of the young workforce, we are helping to ensure that Larne continues to be able to recruit locally from a pool of experienced, qualified and talented individuals.

“Although historically, and very successfully, associated with engineering, we are now also providing training in business and administrationi as well as customer service; areas in which we feel there is a demand within the local job market.”

Covering the district of Larne and surrounding townlands of Ballyclare, Carrickfergus and Newtownabbey as well as Ballymena and Antrim, Larne Skills Development are now recruiting for classes starting in September.

If you are, or someone who know is, a school leaver (or under 18), employed or looking for work, interested in an Apprenticeship and would like to know more about training with Larne Skills Development, please contact them through the website www.larneskills.com or at (028) 2827 3337.
