Actor Derek Halligan (centre) is pictured with director Brian Mulholland and producer Corinne Heaney, from Whiyehead, following the premiere of their film, The Monday Club, as part of the Belfast Film Festival.

The film, which was shot in Millar’s Bar in Ballycarry, tells the story of Danny, played by Whitehead actor Derek, who is the last surviving member of The Monday Club.

Danny shares some yarns of the lifetime friends he met working in the Belfast docks.

Praising the authentic setting, Corinne commented: “It has the look and feel of an old bar and being rural doesn’t open day times during the week. The owner Tony was so accommodating and made filming there a pleasure.”
