Awards plain sailing for sea cadets

LARNE Sea Cadet Unit TS Abercorn were proud to present Leading Cadets Nicole Todd and Matthew Johnston with BTEC awards in Public Services.

To merit this award the committed pair completed a study of Public Services alongside qualifications gained through a wide variety of Sea Cadet activities.

Through the completion of this award LC Johnston achieved the equivalent of 4 As at GCSE Level and LC Todd obtained the equivalent of 4 A*s.

Also receiving an award was CPO James Somerville, Divisional Officer and AASO IT, on his promotion to Chief Petty Officer.

Larne Sea Cadets meet every Monday and Thursday evening in the Dixon Hall, Drains Bay.

Young people between the ages of 12 and 18 are very welcome as places are available.

Volunteering opportunities are also available for adults in administration or instructor roles for as little as two hours per week.

No experience is necessary.
