Neeson’s a hometown hit at Freedom of the Borough ceremony

Liam Neeson arrives in Ballymena much to the appreciation of the waiting crowd.

HOLLYWOOD star Liam Neeson proved a hometown hit with local fans when he arrived in Ballymena on Tuesday to receive the Freedom of the Borough.

Hundreds of fans gathered in spite of the rain for a glimpse of the star on his way to The Braid for the ceremony.

After a windswept arrival on a bitterly cold day, the star of Schlinder’s List, The A Team and Taken - to name but a few of his starring roles - conceded that a ‘good pint of stout’ in front of a roaring fire would be just the ticket.
