Action Cancer is bringing its mobile screening unit to Larne next month to undertake breast screening and health checks.

The unit, known as the Supervalu Big Bus, will be hosted by Centra Larne at its store at 127 Old Glenarm Road on Saturday August 6 and Thursday August 25.

The fully accessible vehicle houses cancer prevention and early detection services and staff also provide information about support services such as counselling, a Listening Ear Service, and Peer Mentoring and support groups, which are available for cancer patients, their carers and families.

Information on complementary therapies is also available.

The Big Bus offers digital breast screening for women aged between 40 and 49 and over 70, health promotion and MOT health checks for men and women.

A full body composition analysis using the latest technology provides clients with information on their height, weight, body mass index and more, and also offers health awareness and weight loss guidance. To make an appointment, phone Action Cancer in advance on 028 9080 3344 or visit www.actioncancer.org/appointments, and follow the ‘online booking’ link on the home page.
