A FIVE-hour music marathon kicks off next week courtesy of Chaine Music - the group behind Larne-based community radio station Chaine FM.
The Chaine Music Live roadshow - on Saturday, August 16 - will give the Larne public a chance to see their favourite DJs and live acts at Broadway. Other acts will be performing in venues around the town during the evening.
Music starts at 1.00pm with Island Folk, who play a range of folk and Irish classics.
From mid-afernoon Robin James Hunt and Mick Morris, from Dublin, stage a performance of folk, blues and rock. The pair will also be appearing in Dan Campbell's for an early evening set.
Anti Ballroom - whose repertoire covers everything from pop and rock - will perform in The Station Bar till late. The band have an impressive track record of playing quality gigs in top venues all across Northern Ireland.
Gary Andrews, from Chaine Music, said: "Chaine Music Live is shaping up to be a great day of live music, putting a good vibe into Larne's town centre. Chaine Music has been well supported by Larne folk to date with our Folk'n'Blues festival last summer and Chaine FM at Christmas and we are sure people will also enjoy this one.
"We are extremely grateful to the support given to us by Morgan Young Consulting and Larne Borough Council, allowing us to put the event on with minimal concerns about financial matters."
Gary added that the organisers and performers are all looking forward to meeting people on the day.
Chaine Music is a not-for-profit group which promotes music through broadcast and public performances. Last year a music festival was followed by the inaugural broadcast by Chaine FM, Larne's first community radio station, which should be making a re-appearance this Christmas.
A spokesperson for Morgan Young said: "It is great to be able to support Chaine Music Live which is attempting to put a positive, feel good buzz into Larne and we are delighted to be associated with the event."
