A CHARITY set up in memory of a Larne man who died from malignant melanoma has received a fantastic £7,000 boost.
Jon Herron, 30, was the inspiration behind the setting up of Factor 50, a fund dedicated to raising funds for research and raising awareness of skin cancer.

Following his death on May 21, 2008, his family and friends have aimed to share Jon's experience in the hope that the lives of others may be saved.

Jon's sister, Catherine Wilson, helped to organise a Factor 50 ball in the Highways Hotel on Saturday night, and is delighted at its success in raising £7,000 for the fund.

See this week's paper for exclusive pictures from the event.
