SIR, In response to the article in the Larne Times regarding the drugs problem in the Carnlough area, I would like to give Councillor Oliver McMullan credit for having the courage to speak out publicly on the drugs issue in our community.
As the concerned parent of teenage kids, I worry constantly whether they will be lured into the drugs culture. I believe other parents feel the same and, like me, would like to see drugs stamped out of our community.

We, as a community, should show Cllr McMullan our support by telling what we know - one man cannot be expected to deal with this issue himself.

I hope Cllr McMullan can take heart in the knowledge that people do support his views on drug issues and I also hope people like myself can take heart in the fact that some councillors do care what happens in our community and hopefully we can stamp out this blight once and for all.
