SIR, Through your newspaper I would like to thank the person who sent me anonymously copies of the Larne Times and Ireland's Own. I had written to you regarding ancestors of mine who lived in Larne.
I had hoped there might be someone still living who would remember my maternal grandmother, Isabella Campbell (nee Stinson), who had a hotel or B&B. She had a sister whose married name was McKeown.

Isabella's husband Samuel Sidney Campbell was a seaman who was lost in the Irish Sea about six weeks after Isabella died of cancer, leaving three children. Their eldest, Barbara Ethel (my mother) was about 18 when she lost her parents. She had a brother, Sidney, and a sister, Evelyn.

There was a court hearing around 1914-15, as a result of which the children received compensation.

My daughter and I are trying to trace the family tree and I would be delighted to receive any information your readers might have.

A E Chaplin,
221B Onepu Road,
Wellington,
New Zealand.
